Arbor day
Keep Nebraska City Beautiful will be participating in the 2023 Arbor Day Parade. At 2:00 p.m. motorists can drive down Central Avenue from 6th street to 11th Street and see float participants which will be parked on either side of the road. Social Distancing will be fully enforced.
In 1872, James Sterling Morton founded Arbor Day to encourage individuals, groups and municipalities alike to plant trees. On that first Arbor Day alone, over one million trees were planted in Nebraska. Today, Arbor Day is celebrated worldwide, but the place to be for friends of trees remains right here, in Nebraska City.
